Gareth Bale says that the England job is a "once in a lifetime opportunity" that Harry Redknapp cannot turn down.

Gareth Bale has said that it will be difficult for Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp to turn down the England job.

The Welsh winger, who has shot to prominence under the 65-year-old tutelage, said that he would not blame Redknapp for swapping White Hart Lane for Wembley.

"We all want Harry to stay," the 22-year-old told The Sun. "But he is a great manager and if England do come calling it's one of those lifetime opportunities that you just can't turn down.

"I wouldn't blame him for going. You never know if that opportunity will ever come around again.

"Clearly it's going to be his choice and only he knows whether he wants the job or not. If it is the dream job for him."

Redknapp took charge of Spurs in 2008.
