Andre Villas-Boas reacts to Tottenham Hotspur's 3-1 win over Panathinaikos.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has praised the club's attacking capabilities after watching his team defeat Panathinaikos 3-1 in the Europa League.

Emmanuel Adebayor, Orestis Karnezis and Jermain Defoe were on target for Spurs as the Premier League outfit booked their place in the last 32 of the competition.

"The problem was 1-0 wasn't enough. They had the determination and motivation to get a result. But we played really well and had opportunities," BBC Sport quotes Villas-Boas as saying.

"We wanted to go to 2-0 before 1-1, but didn't manage that. We felt a little bit of anxiety but managed to get the result which was fair.

"We've been scoring a lot of goals and I think the team is the second-best attacking team in the Premier League. We create chances and we took our chances."

The result saw Spurs through to the next phase as group runners-up, behind first-placed Lazio, while Panathinaikos crash out of the competition.
