Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas is confident that his side can progress in the Europa League following Thursday's 1-1 draw with Maribor.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has insisted that his side are in a "good position" to progress in the Europa League group following Thursday's 1-1 draw with NK Maribor.

Gylfi Sigurdsson's goal salvaged a point for the visitors in Slovenia after they found themselves behind at the break.

The result means that they are now third in Group J but only two points behind leaders Lazio, who were held to a 1-1 draw against Panathinaikos.

"It is obviously not the full result we wanted bearing in mind the draw between Lazio and Panathinaikos, but certainly we will take a point," Villas-Boas told reporters.

"The group is completely open. What we face now is two games at home and I think we are in a good position in the group."

Spurs return to European action on November 8 when they welcome Maribor to White Hart Lane.
