Wednesday's EFL Cup predictions including Coventry City vs. Tottenham

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's EFL Cup fixtures, including

Brighton vs. Wolves (Wednesday, 7.45pm)

On a mission to win their first-ever major honour, Brighton & Hove Albion will welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to The Amex for a third-round clash in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.

The Seagulls are coming into this match following an unbeaten start to the fresh Premier League campaign, whilst Wolves are struggling to click into gear in the top flight so far.

We say: Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers

With a mounting injury list, Brighton are likely to rest the majority of their key players from the start on Wednesday, handing Wolves a glimmer of hope as they aim to progress into the fourth round.

That being said, the Seagulls have home advantage and should be able to book their spot in the next stage against a visiting side who have not won on their travels since February.

Coventry vs. Spurs (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

Looking to respond positively from major disappointment at the weekend, Tottenham Hotspur will travel to Championship side Coventry City in the third round of the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.

Spurs are in the West Midlands following a North London derby defeat to bitter rivals Arsenal, with the Sky Blues aiming to cause an upset against a Premier League giant at The Coventry Building Society Arena.

We say: Coventry City 0-2 Tottenham Hotspur

After exiting the EFL Cup at the first opportunity last season, we are expecting Tottenham to be desperate to move one step closer to a long-awaited piece of silverware.

Coventry have shown their ability to compete with Premier League giants in cup competitions recently, but we do not believe that Wednesday night will be a memorable one for the Sky Blues.
