Southampton have reportedly submitted an offer of €18m (£16.2m) to AC Milan for Portuguese striker Andre Silva.
The 23-year-old moved to San Siro in 2017 but struggled to make an impact in his first season and last term was sent out on loan to La Liga side Sevilla, where he managed 11 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions.
Silva is thought to be a long-term target for Wolverhampton Wanderers, although according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Saints have made the first move with an offer of just over £16m.
The newspaper says that the Serie A side are unhappy with the bid, however, and are looking for a figure closer to €25m (£22.5m), which is still a hefty loss on the €38m (£34.1m) they paid to bring him in from Porto.
Silva, who already has 33 caps for the Portugal side to his name, has three years remaining on his current contract with Milan.
