Report: Southampton want Javi Garcia

A report claims that Southampton want to sign Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Javi Garcia.

Southampton are reportedly interested in signing Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Javi Garcia in the January transfer window.

The 27-year-old spent two seasons in the Premier League with Manchester City, before moving to Russia in August.

However, it is believed that the Spaniard is unsettled at Zenit and will depart following their Champions League exit.

According to The Mirror, Southampton are keen on the defensive midfielder, who has also played for the likes of Real Madrid and Benfica.

A number of European clubs are also said to be monitoring proceedings.
