Southampton are apparently preparing an approach for Victor Wanyama's brother, Inter Milan midfielder McDonald Mariga, in a bid to increase their Champions League chances.
The Saints are targeting a top-four finish following a promising start to the Premier League season under Mauricio Pochettino, who has guided them to fifth in the table with a points tally of 18 from nine games.
Wanyama, a £12.5m signing from Celtic this summer, has been a key figure in helping the St Mary's Stadium outfit hit the ground running, and a report claims that they want to sign his sibling Mariga to play alongside him in the centre of the park.
According to The Mirror, Southampton are planning a January offer for the Inter star, who forms a midfield partnership with his brother in the Kenyan national team.
Mariga came close to joining Manchester City four seasons ago, but failed to obtain a work permit.
