Nigel Adkins: 'We will keep attacking teams'

Southampton manager Nigel Adkins reveals that his side are addressing the defensive problems that have hampered their progress at the start of the season.

Nigel Adkins has once again insisted that Southampton will not be changing their attacking philosophy in the Premier League.

The Saints have only picked up one win so far in this campaign and Adkins admits that his side's defensive performances are a concern.

"You should always be positive because you've got to look to win games," the 47-year-old told the Daily Echo. "You've got to score goals to win games of football and, likewise, you've got to keep them out at the other end.

"We have shipped far too many goals, it's something we're addressing, but likewise you've got to understand you're playing against good players.

"It's about having that all round game."

Southampton have conceded 18 goals in their six league fixtures this season.
