Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Barry Bannan signs a new contract at Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Barry Bannan has signed a new contract at Hillsborough.

Bannan joined the Owls from Crystal Palace in 2015 and has made 124 appearances for the club, netting five times.

The 28-year-old's most recent goal came against Millwall last Wednesday, coming in the 16th minute to put his side in the lead.

The Scotsman, whose previous contract was set to expire next summer, has signed a new three-year deal at the club.

Bannan's Wednesday sit 14th in the Championship table, with seven points from their opening five games.
