Manager David Weir informs Dave Kitson that his contract with Sheffield United will not be extended.

New Sheffield United manager David Weir has decided not to renew Dave Kitson's contract with the club.

The 33-year-old scored 12 goals during 37 outings last season, but Weir has decided that the striker is not part of his plans for the future.

Lecsinel Jean-Francois, Matty Harriott and Danny Coyne have also been released, while midfielder Barry Robson has agreed to join Aberdeen once his deal has expired at the end of the month.

Meanwhile, Danny Higginbotham, Aaron Barry, Callum McFadzean and Jordan Chappell have all been offered extended terms to remain at Bramall Lane.
