Craig Levein urges his players to perform in the World Cup qualifiers next month to continue the current Scottish football positivity.

Scotland manager Craig Levein has said that it is now up to his players to continue the positivity around Scottish football after Celtic qualified for the Champions League groups phase.

Levein, who was full of praise for the achievement of Neil Lennon's side, has insisted that he and his players will do their best in their two World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Macedonia on September 8 and 11 respectively.

"It was a huge performance over the two games from Celtic. It has been a difficult summer for Scottish football and it's about time we had some positive stories.

"It's not just for Celtic, it benefits the whole of Scottish football.

"All credit to Lennon and his players. They've done their bit and the baton has been handed over to myself and the players and we'll do our best to do our bit."

Scotland beat Australia 3-1 in their last fixture earlier this month.
