Real Madrid re-sign Alvaro Morata from Juventus

Real Madrid re-sign Spain striker Alvaro Morata from Juventus, a statement from the Spanish club confirms.

Real Madrid have re-signed Spain striker Alvaro Morata from Juventus.

The 23-year-old, who is currently representing Spain at Euro 2016, came through the youth system at Real Madrid, before joining Juventus on a long-term deal in July 2014.

The Spanish giants retained a buy-back option for the forward, however, and have now activated that clause, which is believed to be in the region of £23m.

"Real Madrid CF have informed Juventus FC of their decision to salvage the federative rights on the player Álvaro Morata, who will join up with the first team for pre-season training under the command of Zinedine Zidane," read a statement on the club's official website.

Morata, who appeared 52 times for Los Blancos' first team between 2010 and 2014, leaves Juventus having scored 27 times in 93 appearances for the Italian champions.
