Real Madrid will not announce a deal for French forward Kylian Mbappe until after the Champions League final, according to a report.

Real Madrid will reportedly not announce a deal for Kylian Mbappe until after the Champions League final.

On Friday, Mbappe confirmed that he would be leaving Paris Saint-Germain when his contract with the French champions expires at the end of June.

The France international did not reveal his next club, but it is widely thought that Real Madrid already have a deal in place for the ex-Monaco youngster.

Mbappe is expected to become Real Madrid's best-paid player, although it is understood that he will be taking a significant reduction on the salary that he currently collects with Luis Enrique's side.

According to journalist Fabrice Hawkins, there will not be an announcement from Real Madrid when it comes to the 25-year-old until after the Champions League final.

Mbappe announcement is delayed by Real Madrid

Los Blancos will go in search of their 15th European Cup when they tackle Borussia Dortmund in the final of the Champions League on June 1 at Wembley Stadium.

Real Madrid could have faced PSG in the final, but the French outfit were beaten home and away by Dortmund in the semi-finals of the competition.

Mbappe has again been in excellent form at club level during the 2023-24 campaign, scoring 43 goals and registering 10 assists in 46 appearances in all competitions.

The Frenchman managed eight goals in 12 Champions League outings this term, but his performances in both legs of the semi-final with Dortmund were criticised.

Mbappe will represent France at Euro 2024

Confirmation of his move to Real Madrid is likely to take place ahead of this summer's European Championship, with the forward set to represent France at the competition.

France, who are viewed by many as the favourites for the trophy alongside England, will kick off their Euro 2024 campaign against Austria on June 17 before also taking on the Netherlands and Poland.

However, the national side have two pre-tournament friendlies against Luxembourg and Canada, and Mbappe is expected to be involved in at least one of those fixtures.

Mbappe was the subject of a world-record bid from Saudi Arabia last summer, while a number of Premier League clubs have allegedly been keeping a close eye on his situation.

However, Real Madrid have always been regarded as the favourites to sign the forward, who has managed 255 goals and 108 assists in 306 appearances for PSG in all competitions.
