How Atletico Madrid could line up against Real Madrid

Sports Mole looks at how Atletico Madrid could line up in Saturday's La Liga clash with Real Madrid.

Atletico Madrid will be looking to continue their strong run of results at the Bernabeu when they travel to Real Madrid in La Liga on Saturday afternoon.

Diego Simeone's side are unbeaten in their last six visits to their rivals in the league, recording three wins in the process.

Atletico are without a victory in their last four games in all competitions, though, and currently sit down in fifth spot in the table, 10 points behind leaders Real Madrid ahead of this fixture.

The reverse clash at the Wanda Metropolitano earlier this season ended in a goalless draw.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Atletico could line up against their bitter rivals.

POSS ATM XI vs. RMA

Out: Diego Costa (neck), Joao Felix (muscle), Santiago Arias (groin), Koke (muscle)
Doubtful: Thomas Lemar (illness), Jose Gimenez (muscle), Kieran Trippier (groin)

Atletico are short of options in the final third of the field with Joao Felix joining Diego Costa on the sidelines, meaning that Angel Correa and Alvaro Morata are likely to start as the front two this weekend.

Simeone also has a problem at right-back with Santiago Arias and Kieran Trippier both struggling with groin problems, although the latter is being tipped to recover in time for Saturday's contest.

Koke's absence with a muscular problem is likely to see Hector Herrera continue in midfield, while Felipe should start in central defence as Jose Gimenez is also struggling to recover from a muscular issue.

Thomas Lemar would have been an option to start in a wide position at the Bernabeu, but a recent illness for the Frenchman means that Vitolo could ultimately get the nod.

Saul Niguez and Thomas Partey are certain starters for the Red and Whites, while Stefan Savic and Renan Lodi will both feature as part of a back four.
