Jose Mourinho plays down his chance of taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho has distanced himself from speculation that has linked him with the managerial job at Manchester United when Sir Alex Ferguson steps down.

Over the last few months a number of reports have claimed that former Chelsea boss Mourinho is Ferguson's top choice to replace him at Old Trafford.

However, despite admitting that he would like to return to England, Mourinho has admitted that it is not likely to be with United.

"I do not believe I can be Ferguson's replacement," Mourinho told reporters. "I think we will finish our careers around the same time. Him at 90, me at 70."

Mourinho has also been linked with the managerial roles at Chelsea and Manchester City.
