Jose Mourinho drops a big hint that he will not be manager of Real Madrid next season, saying "I want to be where people love me to be".

Jose Mourinho this evening suggested that he would not be manager of Real Madrid next season.

The Portuguese manager had just watched his side get agonisingly knocked out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage by Borussia Dortmund and revealed the possibility of leaving in his post-match interview.

When asked if he might win the Champions League with Madrid next year, the Portuguese told ITV Sport: "Maybe not.

"I want to be where people love me to be."

In a post-match press conference a little later, Mourinho said that he would see out the season and then have a talk with his president and "friend" Florentino Perez.

He then continued to allude to the fact that he would rejoin Chelsea. He admitted that he enjoys the love of English fans and the English media, going on to say: "I know I am loved by some clubs, especially one."

The 50-year-old is odds-on favourite to take over at Stamford Bridge once Rafael Benitez leaves the club as expected this summer.
