Real Madrid attacker Isco has insisted that his team will "certainly improve as the season progresses".

Isco's brace saw Los Blancos record a 2-0 win over Espanyol in La Liga on Sunday night, but the Spanish champions are still seven points off league leaders Barcelona after seven games of the 2017-18 campaign.

Madrid are yet to hit full flow in the early weeks of the campaign, but Isco has warned their rivals that the capital giants will improve with each passing week.

"I'm happy for my goals and the three points. Winning at the Bernabeu? We're having a hard time scoring goals, but we're creating many chances and that's the important thing. There's a lot of the season left and we'll certainly improve as the season progresses," Isco told reporters.

Real Madrid's next league match is away to Getafe on October 14.
