Carlo Ancelotti retracts Sepp Blatter comments

Carlo Ancelotti clarifies comments he recently made regarding FIFA president Sepp Blatter.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has moved to clear up recent comments he made regarding FIFA president Sepp Blatter.

The 55-year-old hit out at Blatter ahead of his side's Copa del Rey clash against Cornella, saying that it is "impossible" to shut him up after he reportedly claimed that Manuel Neur deserved the Ballon d'Or award over Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, Ancelotti was forced to backtrack after it emerged that the president of football's governing body was in fact referring to the World Cup's golden ball award, and not the world player of the year accolade.

"I want to clarify what I said, because maybe the question wasn't put to me so clearly," the Italian is quoted as saying by Goal.com. "I was asked what I thought of him saying the 'golden ball' should have gone to Neuer.

"Obviously Blatter didn't say that about the 'Ballon d'Or' award, it was about the 'golden ball' at the World Cup, just so we're clear and for me to rectify what was said."

Madrid went on to beat Cornella 4-1 to advance through to the last 16 of the competition.
