Marcelo returns to Real Madrid training

Brazilian defender Marcelo returns to Real Madrid training after missing two matches with a thigh problem.

Real Madrid could have Marcelo available for Saturday's La Liga clash with Getafe after the left-back returned to training on Monday.

Los Blancos have been without the Brazilian international since the 4-0 defeat to Barcelona on November 21, when he suffered a thigh problem.

The injury forced the 27-year-old to miss matches against Shakhtar Donetsk and Eibar, but he was present at the club's training session at the start of this week, fuelling suggestions that he would be fit to return to action this weekend.

There was no sign of Sergio Ramos, however, who continues to battle a shoulder problem, while Raphael Varane is still on the treatment table, leaving Rafael Benitez short in defence.

Real Madrid will open their Copa del Rey campaign with a last-32 clash against Cadiz on Wednesday.
