Real Madrid and Costa Rica goalkeeper Keylor Navas will undergo surgery on an Achilles problem on Thursday afternoon.
The 29-year-old was ruled out of this summer's Copa America with the complaint and also struggled towards the end of the 2015-16 campaign with the injury.
According to Goal.com, Navas was assessed by Dr Jan van Dijk in Amsterdam on Monday and it was decided that the stopper would have "a minimally invasive endoscopy in his left heel".
It is understood that Navas, who has been suffering with chronic Achilles tendonitis, will be fit to resume pre-season training with Real Madrid next month.
