Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that he takes responsilbility for his side's first-leg defeat to Barcelona in their Copa del Rey quarter-final at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Eric Abidal's winner 13 minutes from time has given Barca the advantage going into the second leg after Carles Puyol had cancelled out Cristiano Ronaldo's opener.
"The responsibility is mine. I am responsible for my team, especially when we lose," Mourinho told Madrid's official website. "Victory has many parents and we all celebrated our Copa del Rey title, but defeats belong only to me. That's fine. I accept it as part of football."
The second leg at the Nou Camp takes place next week.
