Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Real Madrid could line up for Wednesday's Club World Cup semi-final clash with Al Ahly.

Real Madrid will be without six first-team players for Wednesday's Club World Cup semi-final against Al Ahly at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Morocco.

Ferland Mendy (hamstring), Eden Hazard (muscle) and Lucas Vazquez (ankle) are all ruled out due to injury, with the former facing up to two months on the sidelines.

Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will also miss out after sustaining a muscle problem in the warm-up prior to Sunday's 1-0 La Liga defeat against Mallorca – Andriy Lunin is set to deputise between the sticks as a result.

In addition, Karim Benzema and Eder Militao were not involved against Mallorca after picking up respective hamstring and groin injuries in the first half of last Thursday's win over Valencia, and both players will not travel with the rest of the squad to Morocco.

On a positive note, David Alaba returned from injury to feature off the bench against Mallorca and the defender could be in a position to replace makeshift left-back Eduardo Camavinga in the starting lineup, joining Antonio Rudiger, Nacho Fernandez and Dani Carvajal in the back four.

Luka Modric and Toni Kroos both began as substitutes last time out, but Carlo Ancelotti is expected to recall the experienced duo to the first XI, which could see Dani Ceballos and one of Federico Valverde or Marco Asensio make way.

In the absence of Benzema, Rodrygo is poised to retain his place as the central striker, while Brazilian compatriot Vinicius Junior is expected to continue on the left flank.

Real Madrid possible starting lineup: Lunin; Carvajal, Nacho, Rudiger, Alaba; Kroos, Tchouameni, Modric; Valverde, Rodrygo, Vinicius Jr
