Team News: Cristiano Ronaldo starts for Real Madrid for Borussia Dortmund clash

Cristiano Ronaldo starts for Real Madrid as Zinedine Zidane's charges take on Borussia Dortmund in Tuesday's Champions League clash at the Signal Iduna Park.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been drafted into the Real Madrid starting XI as Zinedine Zidane's charges take on Borussia Dortmund in Tuesday's Champions League clash at the Signal Iduna Park.

The Portuguese forward was taken off in Los Blancos' 2-2 draw at Las Palmas last weekend, leading to speculation that he was either injured or had clashed with his boss.

Meanwhile, Casemiro and Marcelo have both been ruled out for the visitors, but Pepe and Fabio Coentrao are available after shaking off knocks and take their place on the substitutes' bench.

As for Dortmund, Thomas Tuchel has made just the one change, with Raphael Guerreiro replacing the benched Emre Mor in midfield for the hosts.

Striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was a doubt for the Bundesliga giants after an injury scare, but he is fit enough to lead the line against the current Champions League holders.

Borussia Dortmund: Burki, Piszczek, Papastathopoulos, Ginter, Schmelzer, Weigl, Dembele, Gotze, Castro, Guerreiro, Aubameyang
Subs: Weidenfeller, Mor, Rode, Ramos, Schurrle, Pulisic, Passlack

Real Madrid: Navas, Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Danilo, Modric, Kroos, Rodriguez, Bale, Benzema, Ronaldo
Subs: Casilla, Pepe, Coentrao, Kovacic, Lucas, Morata, Isco
