Schalke 04 boss Jens Keller believes that Bayern Munich are better than Real Madrid.

The German outfit were eliminated 9-2 on aggregate in the last-16 stage of the Champions League by Madrid on Tuesday, but Keller has claimed that their Bundesliga rivals are the better team.

"Bayern and Madrid are both big clubs," he told UEFA's official website.

"But I think Bayern make it a bit more difficult for opponents to get into possession and overall I think they are a bit stronger than Madrid. But there isn't much between them."

Schalke's last Bundesliga clash with Bayern ended in a 5-1 defeat earlier this month.
