Reading are linked with a move for controversial midfielder Royston Drenthe.

Reading are allegedly in talks to sign former Everton midfielder Royston Drenthe.

The Dutch international, who is currently playing his football in Russia with Alania Vladikavkaz, is on course to return to England, according to the Daily Mail.

Drenthe made 27 appearances for Everton, scoring four goals, but it was his antics off the pitch that made the headlines.

He ended his Goodison Park career on a sour note, angering then-manager David Moyes by consistently showing up late for training.

The 26-year-old sparked controversy in April when footage of him drinking while driving a sports car surfaced on video website YouTube.

Reading are yet to officially confirm their interest in the player.
