Huddersfield Town hold on to see off Reading

Jacob Butterfield and Harry Bunn score for Huddersfield Town as they beat Reading 2-1 in their Championship match.

Huddersfield Town have claimed their first victory of the Championship season courtesy of a 2-1 win against Reading at the Madejski Stadium this evening.

Jacob Butterfield gave the visitors the lead in the 10th minute when he intercepted Michael Hector's pass before curling an effort into the net.

Huddersfield scored their second of the match seven minutes before the break through Harry Bunn, who fired a strike past Adam Federici.

After the interval the visitors continued to dominate and Federici had to be alert to save efforts from Nahki Wells and Bunn.

Simon Cox then threatened for Reading, but he could only head over the bar from Aaron Kuhl's cross.

The hosts began to increase the pressure and Pavel Pogrebnyak had their next chance with a powerful attempt that went over the bar.

In the 79th minute Reading pulled a goal back when Cox fired a strike from range into the bottom corner.

Alex Pearce almost drew the hosts level with two minutes left to play, but his effort from range hit the bar, as Huddersfield held on to claim the points.
