Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has reportedly considered buying two new goalkeepers this summer, following underwhelming performances from Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir.
Headlines were made at the weekend when Amorim told Onana to stay at home in order to regroup mentally ahead of their Europa League quarter-final second leg against Lyon on Thursday.
Onana was at fault for both Lyon goals in the 2-2 draw in the first leg, allowing Thiago Almada's cross to go through his hands for the opener, before palming a shot straight into the path of Rayan Cherki, who netted the late equaliser.
This came just a day after former Man United man and current Lyon midfielder Nemanja Matic called Onana one of the worst goalkeepers in the club's history.
Bayindir stepped in to replace him at the weekend at St James' Park, but endured an equally-torrid afternoon, conceding four goals, making a huge error in gifting Newcastle possession for Bruno Guimaraes's goal that sealed a comfortable win for the hosts.
That went down as an error leading to a goal for Bayindir, while Onana tops that unwanted statistic among Premier League stoppers across the last two seasons with eight.

Amorim looking to move on from Onana and Bayindir?
talkSPORT claim that Amorim is set to shake things up entirely in that position, with both keepers potentially moving on this summer.
There is already set to be a huge overhaul of Man United's playing squad this summer, with Amorim likely to be given free reign to mould a squad in his image despite a very underwhelming start at the helm.
United were just four points off the top four when Amorim took over in November, but they are now a whopping 18 points adrift, dropping down below Everton into 14th at the weekend following that hefty defeat in the North East.
Being a key position on the pitch, one or two new goalkeepers could be top of the priority list for Amorim, with the Red Devils being linked with Aaron Ramsdale and Zion Suzuki among others in recent weeks.
Ramsdale suffered a third career relegation with Southampton earlier this month, and should not command a huge transfer fee given the Saints' plight, while Parma's Suzuki is also not expected to cost as much as Onana did when joining from Inter Milan in 2023.

Is there space in United's budget for two new keepers?
A lot of rebuilding will be required at Old Trafford next season, leaving open the question whether they can afford to splash out on two new goalkeepers.
Bayindir has been at the club for almost two years, but only made his Premier League debut at the weekend, while the Turkish stopper has only made a handful of appearances in cup competitions alongside that.
Other positions also need tending to, after United were only able to add left-back Patrick Dorgu to the ranks during the January transfer window.
A new striker is set to arrive after the misfiring exploits of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee this season, while ageing midfielders Casemiro and Christian Eriksen could also be replaced.
On top of that, interest in Alejandro Garnacho could see him depart, meaning a new wide player will be on the shopping list, in hope that Amad Diallo can also return from injury at his best for next season.
