Reading striker Pavel Pogrebnyak claims that the team have what it takes to avoid relegation in the Premier League this season.

Pavel Pogrebnyak has insisted that Reading's work ethic will help them survive in the Premier League this season.

The Royals are currently 19th in the table but Pogrebnyak remains confident that the team will enjoy a change of fortunes in the second half of the season.

"We mustn't play like we did in the first part of the season," the Russian striker told Sport Express. "That's why I'm happy that we had two victories in the second part and we're three points from 17th which would mean our survival.

"We'll work and we'll win. I like that the team loves working and everyone is fighting and running. This is important.

"It can be that sometimes we need a little more skill but we do our best. At the moment, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel."

Pogrebnyak has scored eight goals since signing for Reading in the summer.
