Rangers record a 5-1 win in their first Third Divison game against East Stirlingshire.

Rangers have got off to a winning start in the Third Division with a 5-1 win over East Stirlingshire.

The Scottish giants had the worst possible start when they conceded a penalty after two minutes.

The visitors took full advantage to take a 1-0 lead after Quinn put the penalty away.

Rangers looked to get right back into the game and almost found an equaliser a minute later when Ian Black's drive hit the bar.

With 14 minutes gone, Ally McCoist's side drew level after some neat football in the final third. Andy Little was put through on goal and kept his cool to make it 1-1.

The home side piled the pressure on and almost took the lead after 35 minutes when Fran Sandaza's curling shot was just tipped around the post by the goalkeeper.

They did take the lead, though, after 41 minutes thanks to a second goal from Little. A Kirk Broadfoot cross found the 23-year-old in the middle, who then headed past the goalkeeper to make it 2-1.

The half-time whistle blew with Rangers deservedly ahead at 2-1.

Rangers continued to dominate and made the pressure count again in the 64th minute when Sandaza made it 3-1.

Little completed his hat-trick on 74 minutes to complete the turnaround and give the Shire no chance of getting back into the game.

Lee McCulloch added a late fifth in the 90th minute to complete the rout.

The final whistle blew and Rangers took all three points with an impressive 5-1 win.
