Report: Queens Park Rangers to appoint Chris Ramsey on permanent basis

A report suggests that Queens Park Rangers will appoint Chris Ramsey as their manager on a permanent basis even if they are relegated to the Championship.

Queens Park Rangers will make Chris Ramsey their permanent successor to Harry Redknapp even if the club are relegated from the Premier League, according to a report.

The 53-year-old became the R's interim boss following Redknapp's departure from Loftus Road in February, and helped secure their first away points of the season with a 2-0 victory over Sunderland in his second game in charge.

QPR have collected just five further points since the win at the Stadium of Light, leaving them on the brink of relegation back to the Championship, despite earning plaudits for their performances.

Hoops chairman Tony Fernandes is poised to keep faith in Ramsey by offering him the manager's position on a permanent basis, despite their impending drop to the second tier, reports The Mirror.

QPR will be relegated from the Premier League next week if they fail to beat Manchester City as they are seven points adrift of safety with just three games remaining.
