Massimo Luongo has admitted that he is hopeful his partnership with Charlie Austin will continue to grow at Queens Park Rangers this season.
The summer signing from Swindon Town has made a positive start to life at Loftus Road in an advanced attacking role.
Having kept hold of star striker Austin beyond last week's transfer deadline, Luongo believes that the Englishman could now prove key to the Hoops' promotion prospects.
"I'm normally more of a midfielder but I've been pushed further up the pitch as a No.10 at times and I find it quite easy to play with him," he is quoted as saying by Get West London.
"He makes my job a lot easier. I know what his strengths are and hopefully I can compliment him. We work well together.
"He's one of the players I've known the longest and he can get us out of a ditch at any time whether that is taking hold of the ball or scoring a good goal. He's a handy player to have in the team."
Austin is free to leave QPR for nothing next summer unless a new contract is agreed in the meantime.
