Wednesday's Ligue 1 predictions including Metz vs. Paris Saint-Germain

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Wednesday's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Metz vs. Paris Saint-Germain.

Lille vs. Reims (Wednesday, 6.00pm)

Lille welcome Reims to the Stade Pierre Mauroy on Wednesday evening during a midweek round of Ligue 1 fixtures.

The hosts may be the reigning champions, but they find themselves below their opponents in the table and just one point above the relegation zone after six matches.

We say: Lille 2-1 Reims

Lille have only lost one of their previous six meetings with Reims - in a game where they were reduced to 10 men - and surely they must start to deliver on the talent within the squad at some point, so we are backing the reigning champions to finally pick up a second win of the season. Albeit by a narrow margin.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Monaco vs. St Etienne (Wednesday, 6.00pm)

Monaco host Saint-Etienne in Wednesday's Ligue 1 fixture, with the visitors looking to get out of the relegation zone when they travel to the Stade Louis II.

Whilst that may have been a tall order in the past, the hosts have been struggling themselves at times during this campaign.

We say: Monaco 2-0 Saint-Etienne

Monaco appear to be on the up, after a tough start to the season, and should have enough to dispatch a Saint-Etienne side going in the opposite direction.

The visitors actually have the better record in this fixture - with four consecutive wins, before a draw and a loss last campaign - but we fancy Les Monegasques to come out as comfortable winners on this occasion.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Montpellier vs. Bordeaux (Wednesday, 6.00pm)

Montpellier HSC welcome Bordeaux on Wednesday evening in Ligue 1, looking to build on a solid start that sees them enter the fixture in eighth position.

In contrast, Bordeaux have endured a rocky opening to their season, and occupy 17th place having only accumulated five points in their opening six fixtures.

We say: Montpellier HSC 1-1 Bordeaux

This should be a close encounter, so it could be cagey early on as both teams feel each other out, and though Bordeaux would have built some confidence after their weekend performance, they may be content with a point against a Montpellier side who have won their last two home games.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Nantes vs. Brest (Wednesday, 6.00pm)

Nantes face Brest on Wednesday in Ligue 1 and the hosts will be looking to build on an impressive 4-1 victory over Angers at the weekend, that helped them rise to 10th position.

Brest enter the fixture still in search of their first win of the season, and as a result of their slow start they occupy the relegation playoff spot in Ligue 1.

We say: Nantes 2-1 Brest

Nantes will be flying after their tremendous victory at the weekend and will aim to make it two consecutive wins on Wednesday.

After drawing their last two games, Brest will continue their search for that elusive win, but they have found Nantes a tough nut to crack in recent history and may come up short in this contest.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or draw.

Rennes vs. Clermont (Wednesday, 6.00pm)

Rennes will host Clermont in midweek in Ligue 1, and the home side will be looking to collect three points after enduring a tough start to the league campaign, only earning five points so far this season.

Clermont have enjoyed an incredible start to their first Ligue 1 campaign, and they currently sit in sixth position and having only lost once this term.

We say: Rennes 1-0 Clermont

Rennes will be desperate to win on Wednesday and may have to grind out a result, but they do possess quality, and Clermont are showing signs of slowing down after failing to emerge victorious in their last four games, so we think Rennes will edge this encounter.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Angers vs. Marseille (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

Marseille aim to continue their undefeated start to the season on Wednesday when they travel to the Raymond Kopa Stadium to face Angers, who have also started the new campaign well.

The hosts will be looking for a quick response after losing their first game of the season at the weekend against Nantes.

We say: Angers 1-2 Marseille

This is going to be a tricky test for Marseille if they want to continue their unbeaten start to the season, as Angers are very strong defensively.

However, considering the form that they are in right now, the visitors should end up having enough quality and experience to see them through in this match.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Lens vs. Strasbourg (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

Lens head coach Franck Haise pictured in October 2020© Reuters

Lens will welcome Strasbourg on Wednesday, aiming to continue their unbeaten start to the Ligue 1 campaign, which has seen them rise to third position and accumulate 12 points so far this season.

Strasbourg have had a steady start to the season, collecting seven points which sees them occupy 12th place.

We say: Lens 2-1 Strasbourg

Lens have been phenomenal this season, and they will put their undefeated record on the line on Wednesday, but we think the hosts will have too much quality for the visitors and Lens should continue their unbeaten run.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Lorient vs. Nice (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

Lorient's Armand Lauriente celebrates scoring their first goal with teammates on September 10, 2021© Reuters

Nice travel to the Stade du Moustoir to face Lorient on Wednesday evening as this new Ligue 1 season begins to take shape.

The visitors remain undefeated after five games, whilst their hosts sit two places below them in the table, having played one more match.

We say: Lorient 1-2 Nice

Lorient's good run of form and giant-killings may come to an end here against a strong Nice side. Their two most impressive scalps - Monaco and Lille - started the season poorly and Pelissier's side will likely struggle against the expansive style of their opponents.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Lyon vs. Troyes (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

Lyon welcome Troyes to Parc Olympique Lyonnais for the seventh round of Ligue 1 fixtures on Wednesday for what is, as things stand, a mid-table clash.

The hosts have dropped to ninth in the table, after a painful loss to Paris Saint-Germain at the weekend, whilst their opponents sit in 13th.

We say: Lyon 2-0 Troyes

The stats are on their side and Lyon will be determined to make amends for their frustrating loss to the league leaders.

Troyes will likely park the bus and play with a compact system, but Lyon's firepower should be sufficient to produce a comfortable enough victory.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Metz vs. PSG (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) coach Mauricio Pochettino pictured on August 20, 2021© Reuters

Paris Saint-Germain will aim to maintain their 100% start to proceedings in the 2021-22 Ligue 1 season when they travel to Metz for Wednesday's battle.

Mauricio Pochettino's side saw off Lyon by two goals to one in dramatic fashion last time out, whereas Les Grenats were swept aside by Strasbourg as their poor fortunes continued.

We say: Metz 0-3 Paris Saint-Germain

PSG may not have taken all three points home from their clash with Lyon on another day, but travelling to a Metz side enduring a barren run at home ought to fill the Parisiens faithful with confidence.

Pochettino may tinker with his team amid a hectic schedule, but the away day specialists should prolong Antonetti's misery with a straightforward success here.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.
