Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including PSG vs. Bordeaux

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Ligue 1 fixtures, including PSG vs. Bordeaux.

PSG vs. Bordeaux (Sunday, 12.00pm)

Having suffered heartbreak in the Champions League yet again, Paris Saint-Germain resume their quest for the Ligue 1 title with Sunday's clash against basement boys Bordeaux.

The hosts crashed out of Europe 3-2 on aggregate to Real Madrid in midweek, while Les Girondins' most recent game saw them suffer a 2-0 league defeat to Troyes.

We say: Paris Saint-Germain 5-0 Bordeaux

Bordeaux fans ought to be fearful of a wounded PSG seeking an emphatic return to winning ways, with Pochettino's crop now going all out for the league with nothing else to focus on.

PSG have remained a largely unstoppable force at home amid their struggles on rival turf, and against a Bordeaux side conceding goal after goal, the capital side should recover from their Champions League exit with a crushing victory.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Angers vs. Reims (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Angers will welcome Reims to the Stade Jean-Bouin on Sunday as the hosts look to break a six-game losing run in the French top flight.

A poor run of form has seen Gerald Baticle's side fall to 14th spot in the Ligue 1 table, just five points above the bottom three, while their visitors now sit a place above and three points better off.

We say: Angers 0-2 Reims

The contrasting recent form of the two sides points to a Reims victory at the weekend, and we do not see the hosts springing any surprises.

Garcia's men have looked a new side recently, and they should have what it takes to get past an Angers team devoid of any confidence.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Clermont vs. Lorient (Sunday, 2.00pm)

After suffering a heavy defeat in their last outing, Clermont will be looking for a positive response when they play host to Lorient on Sunday.

The visitors, meanwhile, also suffered a demoralising defeat in their most recent encounter, and they head into Sunday's contest in the Ligue 1 relegation playoff spot.

We say: Clermont 2-2 Lorient

The reverse fixture between the two sides ended in a 1-1 draw, and with Clermont not wanting to drop points and Lorient struggling to win on the road, we think Sunday's contest will end all square.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Metz vs. Lens (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Two sides seeking to bounce back from demoralising 1-0 defeats renew hostilities at the Stade Saint-Symphorien on Sunday, as Metz take on Lens in Ligue 1.

Les Grenats went down 1-0 to relegation rivals Saint-Etienne in gameweek 27, while Franck Haise's side lost at home to Brest.

We say: Metz 0-2 Lens

It is extremely difficult to predict where the goals may come from in the Metz side while Niane remains out of favour, although Lens were not exactly clinical last weekend either.

Sang et Or's inability to keep things watertight at the back does spell optimism for Les Grenats, but Haise's side will view this encounter as the ideal opportunity to regain a measure of confidence and keep the pressure on the European pack, so we are backing them to do just that.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Strasbourg vs. Monaco (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Monaco have an opportunity to catch Strasbourg for fifth in Ligue 1 when they travel to Stade de la Meinau in eastern France on Sunday.

Le Racing are three points clear of Les Monegasques for the final European place heading into this contest despite drawing their last three games, while Monaco have only collected one victory in their previous six matches played in all competitions.

We say: Strasbourg 2-1 Monaco

Consistency is essential in a lengthy domestic campaign, and Monaco have not shown enough of it in Ligue 1 this season, plus their style under Clement seems to be well-suited for a team like Strasbourg.

With that being said, we expect the potent strikers of Les Coureurs to have their share of opportunities against a side who have allowed a lot of space on the counter and look a little out of sorts defensively.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Lyon vs. Rennes (Sunday, 4.05pm)

Lyon's Lucas Paqueta celebrates scoring their first goal with teammates on March 9, 2022© Reuters

Seeking to rise into the top three of the Ligue 1 table - for a few hours at least - Rennes travel to the Groupama Stadium to do battle with Lyon on Sunday afternoon.

Les Rouge et Noir lost 2-0 to Leicester City in the Europa Conference League in midweek, while their hosts prevailed against Porto in the second tier of continental competition.

We say: Lyon 2-2 Rennes

Fatigue and enforced alterations could impact both managers' thinking this weekend, but the attacking talent on both sides is not up for debate, and an entertaining affair could be in store here.

Rennes' abysmal away form has been a stark contrast to their free-scoring ways at Roazhon Park, but with Lyon still proving a touch inconsistent, Genesio's side can return to their prolific domestic form and claim the point that will be enough to lift them into the podium spots.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Brest vs. Marseille (Sunday, 7.45pm)

Marseille's Dimitri Payet celebrates scoring their first goal with teammates on February 27, 2022© Reuters

Having been on different ends of 1-0 scorelines in gameweek 27, Brest and Marseille prepare for battle in Sunday's Ligue 1 showdown at the Stade Francis Le-Ble.

Les Pirates came away from their clash with Lens with all three points last week, while Jorge Sampaoli's side fell short against Monaco.

We say: Brest 1-2 Marseille

Marseille's recent Conference League exertions and sticky patch of league form will play right into Brest's hands, but the hosts have very little to fight for in the final months of the season.

Sampaoli possesses plenty of talented options on the bench ready to make an impact, and with a penchant for victories away from home, Les Olympiens can use their wealth of firepower to edge a tight contest.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.
