Half-Time Report: Paris Saint-Germain fail to make breakthrough against Monaco

Paris Saint-Germain dominate, but their Ligue 1 clash with Monaco remains goalless at the halfway stage.

Paris Saint-Germain have dominated the opening 45 minutes in the French capital, but AS Monaco's stubborn defence has ensured the Ligue 1 clash remains goalless at the break.

It was a bright start from the hosts as Lucas Moura created space for himself before playing in Marco Verratti, who fired just over from a promising position inside the box.

Despite seeing PSG dominate possession throughout the first half, Monaco also managed to threaten when Lucas Ocampos lifted his effort over the crossbar from the edge of the area.

However, the first goal looked most likely to come through PSG as they continued to apply pressure, with Moura slicing wide after being picked out by Javier Pastore.

Laurent Blanc's men went even closer just before the interval when Edinson Cavani somehow managed to head Maxwell's inviting cross over from close range.
