Half-Time Report: Paris Saint-Germain leading Lyon at the break

Paris Saint-Germain are leading Lyon 2-0 at half time in Ligue 1.

Paris Saint-Germain are leading Lyon 2-0 at half time in Ligue 1, thanks to first-half goals from Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The home side were presented with a glorious chance in the opening minutes as Marco Verratti stole the ball in midfield, before offloading a pass to Cavani, but the striker could not make the most of it as he volleyed straight at the goalkeeper from close range.

Cavani almost made amends as he sought to earn his side a penalty having looked to have been brought down by Bakary Kone, but the referee waved play on.

Alexandre Lacazette almost gave the visitors a surprise lead when he crashed a shot against the post after beating two defenders.

However, PSG then made Lyon pay as Cavani grabbed a goal for his side by glancing a header in at the near post, before Ibrahimovic converted a penalty with a chip down the middle of the goal to leave his team 2-0 up at the break.
