Peterborough United and Port Vale finishes goalless

Peterborough United and Port Vale round off their respective seasons with a goalless draw at London Road in League One.

Peterborough United and Port Vale rounded off their respective seasons with a goalless draw at London Road in League One.

Grant McCann went close with a free kick on 26 minutes, but the effort was just too high to trouble Sam Johnson in the Port Vale goal.

Kyle Vassell should have broken the deadlock moments later, but his effort was saved by Johnson's legs after he broke clear.

Louis Dodd spurned a good chance at the death of the half when he blazed over when well placed five minutes before the end of the first period.

After the restart Vassell was again wasteful when he fired well over the bar in a good position, after Josh McQuoid had gone close with a long-range effort.
