Nottingham Forest boss Stuart Pearce eyes new signings

Nottingham Forest manager Stuart Pearce says that he is aiming to bring in more new blood before the start of the season.

Nottingham Forest manager Stuart Pearce has revealed that he intends to bring in more new players before next season commences.

The Reds have already signed Matty Fryatt, Lars Veldwijk and Louis Laing during pre-season, but the former England international is targeting additional squad depth.

"We let a number of players go in the summer and we need to recruit at this stage," he told the Nottingham Evening Post.

"The chairman has been very helpful so far and I am sure that, going forward, he will be quite aware of the need to bring in a few new faces before the start of the season to realistically stage a decent challenge on the title."

Forest's Championship campaign begins on August 9, when they play host to Blackpool.
