Louis Laing joins Nottingham Forest on free transfer

Nottingham Forest complete the signing of former Sunderland defender Louis Laing.

Nottingham Forest have signed defender Louis Laing on a free transfer following his release by Sunderland.

The former England youth international has signed a one-year deal with the Championship outfit, with the option of a further 12 months.

Laing made just one Premier League appearance for Sunderland, which came in a 3-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2011.

He also competed a loan stint at Wycombe Wanderers during the 2011-12 season and has represented England between Under-16 and Under-19 levels.
