Dougie Freedman still upbeat after first Nottingham Forest loss

Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman remains in a positive frame of mind, despite suffering his first defeat in seven games as boss.

Dougie Freedman has insisted that he "can't be disappointed" with his first month in charge of Nottingham Forest after suffering his first defeat at Charlton Athletic last night.

Forest went down 2-1 at The Valley after collecting 16 out of a possible 18 points in Freedman's first six games in charge.

"To win five games out of six was a momentous effort, and we paid the price for that," Freedman told the club website after last night's loss.

"It just caught up with us. I felt we needed a little bit more composure - we had enough of the ball and enough chances.

"The intent was there - great attitude, fantastic support right until the end, we kept on going, huffed and puffed a little bit around their area, but overall I can't be too disappointed with how the month's gone."

Defeat saw Forest's playoff ambitions take a hit, as they are now 11 points adrift of the top six with 11 games of the season to go.
