Italian giants AC Milan are reportedly set to compete with German outfit Bayer Leverkusen for the signing of Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey.
The England Under-21 defender, who impressed in the Premier League despite a difficult season for Daniel Farke's side, is likely to leave Carrow Road this summer following their relegation from the top flight.
Sky Sports News reports that Godfrey has already held preliminary talks with representatives of AC Milan and now Leverkusen are hoping to step up their interest once Kai Havertz completes his expected move to Chelsea.
German duo Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig have also shown previous interest in the 22-year-old, who is under contract with the Canaries until 2023.
Norwich, who once valued Godfrey as high as £50m, are now willing to lower their asking price to around £30m, but remain adamant that the central defender will not leave on the cheap.
Godfrey joined the Canaries in 2016 from York City and after a successful loan spell with Shrewsbury Town during the 2017-18 season, the defender has since become a star player, making over 60 first-team appearances.
