Norwich City manager Chris Hughton confirms that Grant Holt's back injury will not keep him out of action for too long.

Norwich City manager Chris Hughton has revealed that Grant Holt will not face a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a back injury.

The centre-forward woke up with the problem on Saturday morning, which in turn ruled him out of the 0-0 draw against Fulham on the same day.

However, Hughton has confirmed that Holt will be available for selection again shortly.

"He literally just got up and felt it. It was a fair blow to us. Of course these things happen in football and you have to be prepared and you have to be adaptable enough," he told the Eastern Daily Press.

"That is why we have competition and that is why the players train like we do. There have been circumstances before when physios are able to release the spasm so we couldn't rule him out when we knew in the morning.

"In the end it was quite obvious he wasn't going to be any good for us. It is a spasm so it is going to be very short term for us."

Holt has made 23 appearances in all competitions this season.
