TV replay challenges 'unlikely' in Football League

Shaun Harvey says that Sepp Blatter's proposed TV referral system is unlikely to work in the Football League.

Sepp Blatter's plans to introduce a television replay system into football are unlikely to be implemented in the Football League anytime soon, chief executive Shaun Harvey has said.

FIFA president Blatter said at Soccerex that TV referrals could be trialled at the Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand, but Harvey thinks that such a system is a long way off in the Football League.

"My personal view is that we embrace technology and we have always been happy to be at the forefront of innovation whether it was the playoffs or increasing the number of substitutes," Harvey told Sky Sports News.

"We've always been happy to be at the forefront but this type of innovation is probably best suited to other leagues where there is already a significant amount of technology immediately available at games."

In the proposed system, coaches would be allowed one TV challenge per half.
