Brazilian midfielder Ronaldinho has returned to Mexican club Queretaro in time for the club's new campaign, after he missed the whole of the club's pre-season.
The 34-year-old struggled for fitness in his first season with the club and has just under two years left on his current deal, which he signed in September.
However, the former Barcelona star's future is in doubt after the midfielder missed pre-season and reports suggested that he would become a free agent.
Queretaro's sporting club president Joaquin Beltran said that the Brazilian's future would be in doubt if he didn't show up to the club on Friday, according to Goal.com.
Ronaldinho will now join up with his teammates and will be expected to undergo a pre-season medical examination on Saturday, to make sure he is fit in time for the club's opening fixture with Pumas on January 11.
