Greg Dyke not giving up on B league

Greg Dyke still believes that there is a chance of the B league being introduced into the Football League system.

Football Association chairman Greg Dyke has insisted that he has not given up hope of his B league proposal coming into effect.

In May, the 67-year-old revealed his plans to help the development of homegrown footballers, which included a new division between League Two and the Conference for Premier League clubs' B teams to play.

The idea was rejected by the Football League, though, while numerous managers and supporters rubbished the initiative.

However, speaking to the Culture Media and Sport select committee this afternoon, Dyke revealed that he is enthusiastic about the chances of having his motion pushed through.

"The game is not over yet. I don't rule it out. A lot of Premier League clubs and particularly managers read the report and were totally in favour of the analysis," he said.

The likes of Brendan Rodgers and Roberto Martinez have previously backed Dyke's proposal.
