Steven Pressley denies Gael Bigirimana interest

Coventry City boss Steven Pressley says that he is not planning a loan bid for Newcastle United winger Gael Bigirimana.

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has dismissed reports that he is interested in taking Newcastle United midfielder Gael Bigirimana on loan in January.

The 20-year-old is highly regarded at St James' Park, but has made just one appearance this season - in the League Cup victory over Morecambe.

That has led to speculation that he will be allowed to leave on a short-term basis this winter, and the Sky Blues are rumoured to be among those chasing his signature.

However, Pressley, despite being an admirer, said that the youngster is not one of his transfer targets.

"There's no truth in that," he told the Coventry Telegraph.

"He's obviously a very talented player, but he's not somebody we are looking at."

Coventry are currently 12th in League One.
