Premier League side Newcastle United have reportedly agreed a fee with Montpellier for their defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.
The Magpies are said to be eager to sign a centre-back during this month's transfer window, with Argentine international Fabricio Coloccini known to be keen to leave Tyneside in favour of a return to his homeland.
Having considered a number of options, Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has identified Yanga-Mbiwa as the ideal candidate to fill the void, according to Sky Sports News.
The report has claimed that Newcastle will part with £6.7m to sign the 23-year-old.
Yanga-Mbiwa has spent his entire professional career with Montpellier.
