Newcastle United have confirmed the departure of goalkeeper Matz Sels for Ligue 1 side Strasbourg.
The 26-year-old cost the French side around £3.5m, according to Sky Sports News.
The Belgium international joined Newcastle from Gent for a fee in the region of £6m in 2016, but managed only nine league appearances during his spell on Tyneside.
Sels was sent on loan to Anderlecht last season and made 37 appearances in all competitions, three of which came in the Champions League.
Newcastle United Rafael Benitez had sold Mikel Merino and Chancel Mbemba earlier in the summer, while Ki Sung-yeung, Martin Dubravka and Fabian Schar are the only three permanent incomings to date.
