Newcastle United have reportedly approached Saint-Etienne manager Christophe Galtier to take over from Alan Pardew at the club.
The Magpies have won just once in their last seven Premier League matches, with five of the defeats coming during Pardew's touchline ban for headbutting Hull City's David Meyler.
French newspaper L'Equipe says that officials from Newcastle have spoken to Saint-Etienne as a result of their recent struggles.
Galtier has been in charge of Saint-Etienne, who are close to securing a Europa League place, since 2009.
