Newcastle United striker Nile Ranger has expressed his gratitude to manager Alan Pardew following his recall to the side.
The 21-year-old made only his second appearance of the season in Thursday's Europa League defeat in Bordeaux after a number of disciplinary problems off the pitch.
"I thought, 'That's it, I have to move on to another club'," revealed Ranger. "I thought my future was going to be somewhere else.
"It's not been the case. There's always another chance to turn a new leaf.
"The gaffer has been good with me. He told me he was watching me, but not to take anything for granted. He wants me to keep up the good work."
Newcastle are back in Premier League action on Monday when they take on Fulham at Craven Cottage.
