Tony Pulis expects John Carver to stay as Newcastle United manager

West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis believes that John Carver will keep his job as Newcastle United manager, despite the club's relegation battle.

West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis has expressed his belief that Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley will keep John Carver on as manager, despite plunging them into a relegation battle.

The Magpies are just two points above the drop, but they managed to end a run of eight defeats with a 1-1 draw against West Brom on Saturday.

Widespread reports have suggested that Carver, who was placed in interim charge following Alan Pardew's exit in January, will be replaced in the summer, but Pulis thinks otherwise.

"I don't think there'll be any change at this football club," The Shields Gazette quotes Pulis as saying.

"I think Mike Ashley is very loyal to the people he appoints, and although I don't know the politics around the place, the one thing he has done is to stick with his managers."

Newcastle will play already-relegated Queens Park Rangers and West Ham United in their final two games of the season.
